The 10th International Symposium on Field Measurements in Geomechanics – FMGM2018 as an acronym, will be held at the Convention Center in Windsor Barra Hotel, in the City of Rio de Janeiro, during 16-20 July, 2018. FMGM symposia has been held every four years since 1983, in Zurich, Kobe (1987), Oslo (1991), Bergamo (1985), Singapore (1999), Oslo (2003), Boston (2007), Berlin (2011) and Sydney (2015).
The program will include Special Lectures, Technical Presentations, Young Engineer and Poster Sessions, Exhibitions, Workshops and Technical Tours, as well as a parallel non-technical program.
The role of field performance measurements in the risks assessment and control of the natural geohazards and in the design, construction and operation of engineered facilities, has become a fundamental issue in engineering practice.
The 10th FMGM will cover traditional and innovative themes and will give those interested in instrumentation and measurements an opportunity to meet to exchange ideas, experiences and, above all, to strength the concept relating security, economy and other social and welfare demands with field performance measurements.
This Symposium will promote inter-disciplinary insights, addressing topics related to human issues and to critical and smart infrastructure and construction, highlighting how the measurements of field performance can transform our understanding and management of infrastructure in densely populated cities and urban areas.
The ASME 2017 International Design Engineering Technical Conferences & Computers and Information in Engineering Conference (IDETC/CIE 2017) will take place during August 6-9, 2017 in Cleveland, Ohio. IDETC/CIE 2017 will highlight emergent technologies that impact the critical engineering issues of product design and development, manufacturing, and the management and integration of information systems throughout the product life-cycle. These events are key international meetings for design engineers in academia, government and industry.

As the Organisers of the International Conference of Engineering Vibration, ICoEV 2017, we would like to extend our warm welcome and invitation to participate in this event. The conference will be organised by the Institute of Information and Communication Technology and by the Institute of Mechanics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and will held between 4 and 7 September 2017 in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The conference venue will be Hilton Hotel, www.sofia.hilton.com, conveniently located within a walking distance to a range of hotels and the city centre.
This conference as the previous very successful event in this series held in Ljubljana aims to exchange the knowledge and stimulate development in the world engineering vibration community. The topics of the conference include Structural Dynamics , Wave Propagation, Fluid-Structure Interactions , Dynamics of Rotating Systems, Structural Health Monitoring , Vibration Control and Isolation, Experimental Techniques, Energy harvesting and other vibration themes. In addition, we will have a dozen of mini symposia focused on the specific problems in engineering vibration.
We will be delighted to receive your contribution to the conference. We plan a harmonious mixture of plenary, keynote, contributed and poster presentations. Selected papers will be invited to special issues of top peer review journals, which will be published after the conference.
We look forward to hear from you and welcome you to Sofia!
